In August, we spent a lot of time improving how people find projects and how creators work on them together. It was quite a challenge, so here is what came out of it:

Modifold now has a new Discover page, the catalog shows projects for the latest Hytale update by default, and working together no longer requires an organization. Organizations also received a major update with proper access controls for individual projects.

There is a lot to cover, so as always, we put everything important into one post.

New Discover page

Modifold now has a new Discover page. It brings mods and worlds together in one place where you can quickly see what is happening across the site.

Recommended projects appear at the top. Below them, we added several separate collections:

popular this week;

popular new projects this week;

recently updated projects;

popular categories;

recently published projects;

community events and mod jams.

Each card shows the author, a short description, download count, and the date of the latest update. Hovering over a card reveals more details, so you do not always need to open the full project page just to get a first impression.

Discover does not replace the regular catalogs. If you need search, a specific game version, a category, or sorting, you can still find all of that in Mods and Worlds.

Catalog changes

Popular projects could previously include ones that no longer supported the latest game update. They still worked on older versions, but could simply break on the current one. Yes, we have already run into that.

The catalog now shows only projects that support the latest game update by default. If a project has not been updated yet, it will temporarily stay out of the main results. Ask its author to update the mod for the latest game version!

Versions from the same update are also grouped together. For example, Update 5 includes the entire
0.5.x
line, from
0.5.0
through
0.5.9
. Creators still need to select the exact versions supported by each release, but players no longer have to choose every small patch one by one.

Projects for older versions have not disappeared. You can choose another update, a specific version, or show every version using the filters.

Regular projects now have teams

You no longer need to create an organization just to work on one project with other people.

Every project now has a Team page in its settings. The owner can search for users by username or profile slug, select several people at once, and invite them. Each user receives a notification and decides whether to accept the invitation.

You can configure each team member separately:

the role shown next to their name;

whether they appear in the author list on the public project page;

uploading, editing, and deleting versions;

editing settings, descriptions, links, and the gallery;

viewing analytics;

managing invitations and team members;

deleting the project.

Someone who only helps with screenshots and descriptions does not need access to versions or project deletion. A developer, meanwhile, can appear in the author list with their real role on the team.

The project can still stay personal or be published under an organization. This is configured on the same Team page.

Transfer a project to another member

A project owner can now transfer full ownership to an accepted team member.

Before the transfer, Modifold shows who will become the new owner and what will change after confirmation. You then need to enter the new owner's slug manually. If two-factor authentication is enabled on your account, Modifold will also ask for a six-digit code for extra protection.

After the transfer, the new owner receives full control of the project. The previous owner remains a team member. The transfer cannot be undone by the previous owner. Only the new owner can transfer the project back.

Organizations 2.0

Organizations received their biggest update since the system first launched.

The first version let you bring members together, give them shared permissions, and publish projects under a team name. That was enough for a small organization, but once several projects were involved, the settings quickly became too broad.

Access can now be configured much more precisely.

Access to individual projects

The organization owner can choose which projects each member can work on.

One person can have access to just one project, another to several, while someone else can have no project access at all and only work with the organization itself.

Permissions are configured separately for every available project. You can allow work on versions and descriptions while keeping team management, analytics, or dangerous actions locked. For example, you can prevent someone from deleting project versions or the project itself.

If a user was also invited directly to the project's own team, that access continues to work independently of their organization role. It can be removed from the project team settings.

Organization permissions

Organization permissions are now separate from project permissions.

You can allow a member to edit the organization page, invite people, manage members, add projects, or detach them. A role such as "Developer," "Designer," or "Manager" is only shown as a label and does not grant any permissions by itself.

This makes it easier to understand what someone does on the team and what they can actually access.

Better invitations

You no longer need to know and manually enter someone's exact slug before inviting them.

Organizations now use the same search as project teams. You can search by username or slug, select several users, and send all invitations at once.

Updated organization pages

We redesigned the organizations page in the user dashboard. Each card now shows your role, the number of members and projects, and organization owners can jump straight into settings.

We also updated the organization project list. Its cards now match the main project dashboard, with proper descriptions, categories, and a quick way to open project settings. A project can also be detached from the organization through a separate menu with confirmation.

Organization projects available to a member now also appear in the project list on their profile.

Transfer an organization

An organization can now be transferred to another accepted member too.

The check works the same way as project transfers. Modifold first shows the consequences, then asks for the new owner's slug and a 2FA code if it is enabled. The new owner receives full control, while the previous owner remains a member of the organization.

This is useful when the person leading a team changes or when the organization was originally created from the wrong account.

New Details page

Project settings now have a separate Details page. The license setting moved there, along with new information that players should know before downloading a project.

Creators can specify:

whether generative AI was used for code, assets, text, or features;

whether the project has paid features;

whether the project collects telemetry and how users can opt in or out;

whether it contains flashing lights or other risks for photosensitive people;

an additional explanation for each item.

Completed details appear on the public project page under What you should know.

We already covered our rules for AI use in a separate post: Less AI slop, more real projects.

Archiving projects

Projects can now be archived from the Details page.

An archived project disappears from catalogs, but stays on the author's profile and remains available through a direct link. Its page shows a notice that the project will no longer receive updates.

The author can leave a custom message. For example, they can explain the reason, link to a continuation, or allow other people to fork the project. This keeps old work available without making players think it is still supported.

Upload several gallery images at once

You can now upload several images to a project gallery at once.

Files can be selected through the file picker or dragged into the upload window. Before uploading, you will see the full list, where you can remove an unwanted image and fill in the title, description, and other details for each file.

Previously, the entire process had to be repeated for every screenshot.

Settings are no longer lost by accident

If a settings page has unsaved changes and you try to leave, Modifold now warns you first.

You can stay on the page and save your work or confirm that you want to leave. This works when moving to another settings section and when closing or reloading the page.

What is next

Teams and organizations now have a good foundation for working together, but we are not done yet. We will keep looking at which permissions are still missing, where settings still take too much time, and how working across several projects can be made easier.

Discover and the updated catalog will also keep growing as more projects, categories, and Hytale versions are added.

Thank you to everyone who publishes projects, reports bugs, and tells us what feels awkward to use. Most of this update came directly from that feedback.

October 17, 2026 update: our AI rules have changed.

We assess the result, not the tools. Using AI for code, debugging, translations, and descriptions is allowed. The proportion of AI-generated code or text is no longer, by itself, a reason to reject a project. Authors remain responsible for the functionality, safety, and accuracy of what they publish.

The restriction on AI-generated or generatively edited images in project presentation remains: icons, covers, galleries, and description illustrations should use actual in-game content or your own graphics. Ordinary editing, such as cropping, color correction, text overlays, and compositing, is allowed.

Automatically displayed previews inside embedded YouTube and other third-party players are exempt. Uploading the same image separately to a gallery or using it as a cover is not exempt.

We have also updated the article below to reflect the new rules. See the Content Rules for the current wording.

The short version: we are not against AI. We are against AI slop in project icons, covers, and galleries. Images should help you understand what you are downloading, not leave you wondering whether any of it exists in the game.

AI can be a useful tool. It can help you understand an error, sketch out an idea, translate some text, or speed up the boring parts. That is fine. What matters is that the project works, is safe, and matches its description, not which tools were used to write its code.

That is why we updated our Content Rules and added a separate Details page to project settings.

What is no longer allowed

AI-generated or generatively edited images are not allowed in project presentation. This includes:

project icons;

gallery images;

images in descriptions;

any other images used on the project page.

And no, you do not need a professional designer to publish a project. An in-game screenshot or a simple icon made in Figma or Photoshop is fine. Show the project itself, not AI slop in its place.

What if you used AI?

There is no need to hide it!

Project settings now have a separate Details page. You can mark that AI was used, say what it was used for, and add an explanation if you want.

You can also add the project license, paid features, telemetry, and other important details. This information will appear on the public project page, so players know what they are downloading.

Check the result before publishing: authors remain responsible for their projects regardless of the tools they use.

Archiving projects

You can now archive a project from the same page.

An archived project disappears from catalogs, but stays on the author's profile and remains available through a direct link. Its page will show a notice that the project will no longer receive updates.

The author can leave their own message too. For example, they can explain that they no longer have time to maintain the project and that others are free to fork it. If no message is added, we will show the standard archive notice.

This is better than deleting old work or leaving players to guess whether a project is still alive.

Why are we doing this?

So you know what you are getting before you download something.

It is better to know about data collection and paid features upfront instead of finding out after installation or stumbling across it at the bottom of a description. Screenshots should show what the project looks like in the game.

We want to see your ideas, your experiments, and your weird projects that somehow work perfectly at 3 AM and break again in the morning. Using AI in development? That is fine. Just show players what they will actually get.

Less slop. More modding.

Modifold July Update

We updated creator profiles, added achievements, name badges, profile cover uploads, and sign-in with your Hytale game profile.

With the July update, we made a big step toward making Modifold more than just a catalog of mods. We want it to be a place where creators can build their name.

We have said this before: in modding, the individual project matters, but the person or team behind it matters too. That is why this update focuses a lot on profiles, achievements, badges, and connecting your Modifold account with your Hytale game profile.

Updated creator profiles

Author pages are now much closer to a proper public showcase for modders.

Profiles now make these things more visible:

author avatar;

profile cover;

description;

project count;

total downloads;

subscribers and subscriptions;

published projects by the author.

The profile no longer feels like a small card with a few numbers. It is now a separate page where players can quickly understand who they are looking at, what projects the author makes, and how active their contribution to the community is.

Covers and avatars directly on the profile

We moved avatar uploading from settings directly to the profile page. If it is your profile, you can update your avatar without jumping through extra pages.

We also added profile cover uploads. It is a simple feature for now, but it already helps authors make their pages feel more personal and recognizable.

Achievements

Modifold now has an achievement system.

If a user has earned achievements, they are shown on their profile.

Right now, achievements can be given for different things:

first published project;

100, 500, and 10,000 downloads;

participating in HytaleModding ModJam 2026;

linking a Hytale game profile;

other manual or unique events.

This is only the beginning. We want achievements to become a way to show the story of an author: event participation, important milestones, community contributions, and rare moments that are nice to keep on a profile.

We added a separate achievement for HytaleModding ModJam 2026 participants. If you took part in the event and publish your work on Modifold, you can show it directly on your profile.

If you participated in the Hytale x HytaleModding mod jam, message us on Discord with proof of participation and we will add the achievement to your profile.

Badges next to your name

Earned achievements can now be used as a badge next to your name.

If you have several achievements, you can choose which one appears next to your username. For example, you can show the Creator Badge, the ModJam participant badge, or the linked Hytale account badge.

It is a small feature, but it makes profiles feel more alive. Each author can gradually build a visual status that is tied to real actions on the site.

Sign in and link your Hytale account

Modifold now supports sign-in with Hytale.

You can:

create a Modifold account with Hytale;

sign in to Modifold with Hytale;

link your Hytale game profile to an existing account in security settings.

If you link your Hytale game profile, you will receive a special achievement on your profile and will be able to set a badge next to your name.

For us, this is an important step. A linked game profile helps players better understand that they are looking at a real creator connected to their Hytale account.

Profiles are easier to browse

The author's project feed is cleaner now too.

We added sorting, pagination, and significantly improved the mobile version of the profile. It is now easier to browse all projects by an author, move between pages, and find their most notable work.

What is next

Next, we will keep improving creator profiles.

We want Modifold to help modders not only publish mods, but also build their name: show achievements, grow an audience, take part in events, and become more visible to players.

Thank you to everyone who publishes projects, gives feedback, and helps make Modifold better.

While you are busy taking part in mod jams, we have been working hard on Modifold and trying to make it better in every way. By the way, we now have a new project type - worlds.

You can now publish horror maps to play with friends, mini-games, parkour, story adventures, cute little houses, and everything that usually starts with "guys, join for 5 minutes" and ends at three in the morning. Lol, that happened to me a lot.

Publish your worlds

You can now create a project with the World type and publish your map as a separate project on Modifold.

Worlds now have their own section and their own categories. They are not just mods. They are maps with mods. They are a separate type of content, so we moved them into their own place, so worlds do not get lost among regular mods.

User analytics dashboard

We added a user analytics dashboard.

Now you can view stats for all your projects in one place:

downloads;

views;

charts;

date filters;

stats for selected projects.

Before, you had to jump between projects and piece the picture together manually. Now you can open one page and understand what is actually going on.

Profiles became more useful

User profiles now show:

total project count;

total downloads;

published projects by the author.

A profile is gradually becoming a showcase for the author, not just a place where an avatar lives.

Trailers in galleries

We added YouTube trailers to project galleries.

If a project has a trailer, it appears in the gallery and automatically starts muted when you open the project page.

This is especially good for worlds, because sometimes it is easier to show the atmosphere of a horror map in one short video than to try explaining it with words.

Project versions are easier to understand

We updated the project version page.

Now it is easier to understand:

which file you are downloading;

what status the version has;

what dependencies it has;

what is required and what is optional;

which game versions are supported.

Dependencies are easier to download

If a mod version has required dependencies, Modifold now offers to download them together with the main file.

That means fewer chances to download a mod, launch the game, see a crash, open the log, and drop it in Discord asking for help.

Real game versions

We replaced the old Early Access system with normal game versions.

Now you can:

filter projects by game versions;

set supported versions when publishing a release;

attach versions to a project release, for example
0.5.0
,
0.5.0 + 0.5.1
, or any other set of symbols that is still easier to pronounce than Elon Musk's son's name. Okay, that was a joke. Of course, it is better to use the real game version.

A few more useful things

Other changes:

project authors no longer see the like button on their own project;

we fixed sizes and visual states in a few places;

we updated the API documentation website;

we updated links to the new API documentation on the main website;

we cleaned up a few places on the project moderation page and ModJam pages.

We also added email sign up and login.

The login window now shows which method you used last time. Why did we do this? Because we wanted to. Don't ask.

We also cleaned up the mods catalog page:

updated pagination and added it to the top of the page;

the catalog now smoothly scrolls back to the top when you change pages;

fixed the order of filters for worlds.

And overall, the site became cleaner and easier on the eyes.

What is next

Usually this is where we make some callback to the main topic of the post and promise that new features are already on the way. But you already know that.

We're happily waiting for the in-game mod browser and its integration with Modifold.

That's it, bye.

Modifold now has a place for mod jams: themed events where the community creates, joins in, and helps choose the best entries.

We are launching mod jams on Modifold in beta. Around one shared theme, creators, ideas, deadlines, voting, and a healthy bit of creative chaos all come together.

Modders have been running events like this by hand for a long time: through posts, spreadsheets, chats, and separate participant lists. Now jams have a proper home on Modifold: an event page, rules, submissions, voting, jury members, nominations, and results.

In short: jams. Just with mods instead of jars.

What Are Mod Jams?

Mod jams are events and contests that give the community a creative challenge.

The host comes up with the idea, sets up the page, defines the rules and deadlines. Participants submit their projects. Players and jury members help choose the strongest entries.

It can be a friendly weekend challenge, a month-long themed contest, or a bigger event with multiple nominations. The point is simple: a reason to make something new and show it to people who actually care.

What You Can Do Now

The first beta already has the foundation for real events:

create a mod jam page;

add a title, description, rules, avatar, and cover image;

set submission and voting dates;

send a jam to moderation before publishing;

submit a project to an active jam;

vote for entries;

assign jury members;

create nominations like "Best Gameplay", "Most Original Idea", or "Community Choice";

view finished events and results.

If a jam has nominations, voting gets more interesting: you can recognize different entries for different strengths. One project for visuals, another for the idea, a third one for gameplay. The winner does not have to stand alone on the podium.

Jury And Nominations

Not every jam needs to end with one big "first place".

Sometimes you want to highlight atmosphere, technical execution, visuals, originality, usefulness for players, or simply the entry that resonated with the community the most.

That is what nominations are for. Hosts can create categories and give participants more ways to stand out.

A jam can also have a jury. A regular user vote gives 1 point, while a jury vote gives 3 points. This makes it possible to combine the community's choice with a more focused review, without turning the event into a closed contest for insiders.

Moderation Before Publishing

Mod jams are created by users, but before an event appears in the public catalog, it goes through moderation.

This is not about bureaucracy. We want participants to immediately understand the theme, deadlines, rules, and voting format. A good jam page should invite people in, not make them guess what is going on.

The host can calmly put the page together, check the visuals and rules, and then send the jam for review.

Beta Testing

Mod jams look fun, but under the hood they are a fairly complex system. Event creation, moderation, project submissions, voting, jury members, nominations, and results all need to work together without getting in each other's way.

That is why we are launching this as a beta. At the start, there may be odd interface states, missing settings, and bugs in specific scenarios.

We want to develop mod jams openly and together with the community. If you notice a bug, a confusing moment, or anything that feels off, please tell us. The more real scenarios we see, the faster we can make the system feel good to use.

What’s Next

Our goal is to make mod jams more than just a list of contests. We want them to become a living part of Modifold: a place where ideas spark more ideas, creators get a reason to build, and players find projects they might have otherwise missed.

We cannot wait to open this up more widely and see what events the community comes up with. If you have already thought about hosting a jam, now is a good time to start sketching out the theme, rules, cover image, and future page.

Thanks for building Modifold with us. Mmmm, jams.

Today we are releasing the May update for Modifold. It is now easier to follow creators, return to projects you liked, find fresh mods, and publish versions for your own projects.

We focused on the things players and modders do most often: finding projects, saving interesting ones, following updates, and showing their work to others.

Main changes in this update:

Creator Badge instead of the old verification.

Liked Projects page for saved projects.

Notifications about new project versions.

Updated mods catalog with recommended projects and sorting by recent updates.

New project cards.

Dependency selection when publishing versions.

Creator Badge

We removed the old verification and replaced it with Creator Badge.

Before, we had a blue checkmark that looked like verification on social platforms. That did not feel quite right for Modifold, so we made a new Creator Badge with clear requirements.

We like Simon’s thought: if he were a Hytale modder today, he would focus on making mods more accessible and building his name.

We feel the same way. Players should see not only the mod, but also the creator behind it: their work, badges, stats, and ways to support them (we will talk about that a bit later).

To activate Creator Badge, you need to:

publish 3 projects;

reach 500 total downloads across your published projects.

When both requirements are met, the badge can be enabled without an application or waiting. It appears next to the creator’s name, helps players recognize active creators faster, and makes their contribution to the community more visible.

Liked Projects

The user dashboard now has a Liked Projects page.

Now projects you liked can be found in one place. This is useful if you are building a mod set, want to return to a project later, or just want to keep track of what you already liked.

The page link was added to the profile menu and mobile navigation.

New Version Notifications

Following a creator is now more useful. When a creator releases a new project version, their followers get a notification.

This is another step in the same direction: a user follows not only one mod, but also a person or team they trust.

Mods Catalog

The mods catalog is now more useful for anyone looking for something fresh.

We added Recently Updated sorting. Now you can browse not only new or popular projects, but also projects that recently received updates.

The mods page now also has a recommended projects block. It helps you notice interesting community work faster, without going through filters for too long.

Project Gallery

We started testing a new gallery directly on the project page.

It opens in the context of the page, switches images smoothly, works better on phones, and makes thumbnails easier to use.

For now, this gallery is available as an experimental feature in /settings/flags. We will keep improving it and gradually enable it more widely.

Versions and Dependencies

When creating or editing a version, you can now specify dependencies on other projects.

This is useful for mods that need another mod or library. In the editor, you can find a project, select it from the list, and link it to the current version.

Thanks to AzureDoom for suggesting this idea.

Other Improvements

Updated the login window.

Updated the site footer.

Updated the site favicon.

Updated the logo on the home page.

Improved modal animations across the site.

Fixed icons in the social links block.

Made the clear filters button cleaner and disabled when filters are empty.

Latest projects now appear in the home page showcase.

The marquee on the home page now pauses when hovering a mod badge.

What’s Next

Next, we will pay more attention to creators, projects, and how players discover new mods. We want Modifold to be a helpful, active place for the community.

Thanks for building Modifold with us.

A new step for creators on Modifold

We wanted creator status to be clear, fair, and useful for the community.
So today we are moving away from blue checkmarks and introducing a new format: Creator Badge.

This is not about being "elite". It is about real contribution: publishing projects, staying active, and building trust with players.

What is Creator Badge

Creator Badge is an official status for active and trusted mod creators.

If you have the badge, it:

highlights your profile and comments

helps players quickly find trusted creators

gives you better chances to appear in picks, homepage blocks, and creator support campaigns

What changed

We removed the old blue checkmark system

We removed manual verification moderation

We added a new path: Settings → Creator Badge

You can now see requirements and your progress right away

Badge requirements

To activate Creator Badge, you need to:

Publish 3 projects

Reach 500 total downloads across your published projects

When both requirements are met, you can activate the badge with a button in settings.

Why this approach

We want this system to be:

transparent — clear requirements for everyone

fast — no waiting for manual review

fair — status is based on real creator contribution

This is a step toward a stronger ecosystem where not only mods, but also the people behind them get recognition.

What’s next

We will keep improving creator profiles, stats, and promotion tools so strong creators can get more visibility and support.

Thanks for building Modifold with us.

Analytics and Issues in Modifold

Modifold now includes player and server charts, plus Issues so your community can share feedback and bug reports right on the project page.

Today we have not one, but two major updates for mod creators: advanced analytics and full Issues support on project pages.

Analytics helps you understand how your mod is actually being used, and Issues helps you collect ideas and bug reports from the community in one place.

New project analytics

Seeing total downloads is useful, but it is even more important to understand how many people are actually playing with your mod.

We built the Modifold Analytics Plugin. After integration, your project on Modifold gets expanded charts for player count and active servers.

The source code is open on GitHub: modifold-website/analytics

What you get

After integration, you get expanded analytics on the Analytics page. You will see current online players (how many users are playing with your mod right now), a daily player chart, and an active servers chart.

How to add it to your mod

For the demo mod, we used:

Java 25

Maven

Gson

Copy
src/main/java/com/modifold/ModifoldAnalytics.java
from modifold-website/analytics into your mod source code.

Update the
package
line if your project uses a different package structure.

Make sure
Gson
is available in your mod runtime/build.

Initialize analytics during your mod/plugin startup (setup/init phase):

new ModifoldAnalytics("your-project-slug", "1.0.0");

Replace the placeholders:

your-project-slug
- your Modifold project slug

1.0.0
- your current mod version

After this, expanded analytics will appear on your project page in Modifold.

Embedding the chart in Markdown

If you want, you can also add the chart directly to your project description:

![](https://api.modifold.com/analytics/optimized-somehow/embed)

Dark theme:

![](https://api.modifold.com/analytics/optimized-somehow/embed?theme=dark)

Here,
optimized-somehow
is your project slug.

Issues

Projects on Modifold now have a dedicated Issues section.

There, users can:

suggest new features for your mod

report bugs and problems

discuss open Issues in comments

Any user can comment on open Issues. The project author or organization members can manage these Issues by editing, pinning, and closing them when needed.

Project Issues settings

Project settings now include a separate Issues section.

There you can:

add new Labels

edit existing Labels

create Issues templates (and edit old ones too)

These templates are shown to users when they create a new Issue on your project page.

End

Modpacks are here

You can now publish modpacks on Modifold - collections of mods in a single archive (RAR / ZIP). You can upload them, and users will be able to download and install them.

What already works:

A separate modpacks section next to mods

The Modpack project type in the project creation modal

Separate tags for modpacks

Otherwise, the same features as projects of type Mod

What does not work yet:

We don't know yet, but we'd be happy if you tell us about bugs and feature requests you find

Important: the maximum size for a single version file is 100 MB. The limit will be increased in upcoming updates.

Interface and search updates

Highlights:

New tag selector in project settings: icon buttons instead of a dropdown

Search page improvements: a Modpacks tab and a correct indicator

Updated background for the mods and modpacks sections

Redesigned notifications page

Unauthenticated users can now change the site language and theme

Fixes and improvements in the mobile version (it looks great, check it out!)

Other improvements

Updated the settings pages (project and profile) and their side panels

Added two-factor authentication (2FA). You can enable it in Profile settings, under Security

Improved the project comments page

Tweaked the verification application page

Organizations can now add social media links

Moved a person's social media links into a separate block on the profile page

Removed scripts that were slowing down page loading

The profile page now lets you open followers and following lists in a modal

What's next

We'll keep developing modpacks and improving platform stability. Your feedback and criticism are what help us get better.

Integration with HytaleModding Wiki

Connect HytaleModding Wiki to your project on Modifold: a dedicated Wiki tab, synced pages, and Markdown content.

We have added integration with HytaleModding Wiki to Modifold.

If your mod already has a wiki on HytaleModding Wiki, you can now quickly attach it to your project on Modifold. After that, your project will get a dedicated Wiki tab where synced pages and Markdown content will be displayed.

What this gives you

A dedicated Wiki tab directly on your project page on Modifold

Synced pages from HytaleModding Wiki

Markdown content displayed on Modifold without manual copying

More convenient navigation for players, testers, and other modders

How to connect it

Everything is very simple to set up: just open your project settings on Modifold and add a link to your wiki from HytaleModding Wiki.

After saving, Modifold will use that wiki as the content source for the Wiki tab inside your project.

Where to edit the wiki

Important: configuring the structure and editing the pages themselves still happens on the HytaleModding Wiki website.

In this case, Modifold acts as an integration and display point, so your project's documentation is available to users right next to the main mod page.

Thanks

Thanks to the HytaleModding team for continuing to grow the Hytale modding community and support the ecosystem with useful tools.

We are proud to be part of this story and to make access to mods and their documentation more convenient for the whole community.

Introducing Organizations

Organizations on Modifold: shared project ownership, member roles, and publishing under a team identity.

Introducing Organizations

Big news: we are shipping Organizations on Modifold.

Organizations are built for creators who work together and need shared ownership, clear permissions, and one team identity for publishing.

TL;DR

Organizations for team-owned projects

Invite members by user slug through notifications

Role-based permissions for organization and project actions

Attach projects to organizations and publish as a team

Public visitors see approved projects, while members can also access attached drafts

Design goals

Most creators do not stay solo forever. As projects grow, shared ownership and access control become essential.

Before this release, teams had to manage ownership and permissions manually across projects. That can work for small teams, but it becomes fragile as they scale.

Organizations solve this by keeping membership, permissions, and publishing in one place.

Creating an organization

When creating an organization, you can set:

Name

Summary

Icon

After creation, organization settings become your team control center.

Invites and membership

Organizations use slug-based invites.

Slug
is the profile identifier in the URL. For example, in
https://modifold.com/user/john-doe
, the slug is
john-doe
.

To add a member, enter their slug. They receive a notification and can accept or decline right away.

This keeps onboarding quick without external invite links or manual access handoffs.

Roles and permissions

Each member can have role-based permissions for:

Organization management actions

Project-level actions

This gives teams precise control over who manages settings, maintains projects, and publishes updates.

Project ownership and visibility

Projects can now be attached to an organization and shown on the organization page.

Visibility rules:

Public visitors: approved projects only

Signed-in organization members: approved projects plus attached drafts

This lets teams safely coordinate unpublished work while keeping public pages clean.

For solo creators

Nothing changes for solo creators. Organizations are optional.

You can keep publishing as before and adopt organizations when your project becomes a team effort.

What is next

This is the first release of Organizations. We will keep improving it based on community feedback.

Thanks for building on Modifold.

Modifold Full Release

Modifold is out of beta. A full release built with community feedback, 6 languages, profile verification, and project comments.

Today we are officially moving Modifold out of Beta and into a full release.

Over the past weeks we received a lot of valuable feedback and bug reports. Many of those issues were fixed quickly, and your reports helped us improve stability and the overall experience.

A 6-language interface

One of the biggest milestones is that the Modifold interface is now available in six languages:

English (default)

Spanish

Portuguese

Russian

Turkish

Ukrainian

When you visit the site, the language is chosen based on your browser language. If you want to switch to another language (for example, your browser is in English but you want the interface in Spanish), you can change it in your Modifold profile settings.

Translations may be inaccurate in some places. If you speak any of these languages and notice a translation issue, we would really appreciate your help. Please message us on X (DMs) with the incorrect text and your suggested correction.

Profile verification

We also introduced profile verification. In your account settings there is a new tab called "Verification" where you can submit a verification request.

Verification does not provide extra platform privileges. It only adds a badge next to your profile name. The badge helps distinguish verified and well-known modders.

Current requirements:

500+ followers on X or YouTube, or

3,000+ downloads on CurseForge

To help moderators verify ownership, you must include at least one link (X, YouTube, or CurseForge) where your Modifold profile link is present.

We may change these requirements in the future and raise them. Our goal is to keep verification meaningful: it should highlight established authors without turning into a badge that everyone has by default.

Project comments

Another major feature is comments on projects. Logged-in users can now leave feedback, constructive criticism, or questions under your mod.

All new comments are moderated by the Modifold team to prevent rule violations, such as insults or spam. The project author can also delete or hide a comment so other users do not see it.

If you do not want your project to be commentable, there is a toggle in the project settings to enable or disable comments. Comments are enabled by default for all projects. If you disable them, all existing comments will be hidden and the "Comments" tab will disappear from the project page.

In upcoming updates we want to add comment editing, because we consider it a necessary feature. Please do not use comments to harm others. Keep it constructive; otherwise the comment may be removed, and accounts may be restricted or banned in the future.

Thank you

We value every new author on Modifold and we are happy to see your interest in the platform. We hope we can keep pushing the Hytale modding community forward together.

Dear Hytale Community,

The wait for Hytale has been long, and we want to be right there with you from day one! Today, we are excited to announce that Modifold is officially in Beta. Modifold is more than just a website; it’s a platform made by fans, for fans. It is a place where creators can upload their mods and players can discover new ways to experience the game. As a "young platform," we are just starting our journey, and we invite you to help us shape the future of Hytale modding.

Why Beta?

We are actively testing and refining every part of the site. Launching in Beta means we already have a solid foundation and now move into a more feature-complete testing phase together with the community. You might still encounter some bugs or see features evolve, but your feedback at this stage is what will make Modifold truly convenient and awesome for everyone.

How You Can Help

Since we are in the early public stage of development, your input remains extremely valuable:

Share your mods: Start building your profile and show the world what you're working on.

Report bugs: Found something broken? Let us know so we can fix it.

Suggest features: Have an idea for a "cool" addition to the site? We’re all ears.

Join the Conversation on Discord

The heart of our community is our Discord server. It’s the fastest way to get updates, report issues, or just chat with fellow Hytale enthusiasts.

Join our Discord: https://discord.gg/modifold

We are incredibly grateful that you’re joining us at this important stage. Together, we can build a fast, beautiful, and truly community-owned home for Hytale mods.

Best regards,
