Changes

4.2.0 - Companion Views and Stability - 2026-09-23

  • Fixed Revive and Recover on ordinary companion cards when a linked animal's old NPC ID was retired after death or loss.

  • Fixed startup failing when an unfinished death or lost transition was superseded by later companion changes. Recovery now retires the obsolete pending operation while preserving the companion's current saved state.

  • Expanded automatic persistence failure reports with nested error codes and bounded, anonymized operation and related-record evidence, including failures during startup. Reports preserve collection limits and unavailable evidence so support can diagnose more failures without requesting a save.

  • Added /tw debug clear-owned to preview and permanently clear a player's ordinary animals, including unloaded, dead, and lost entries. Protected stored and bonded companions are preserved.

  • Added player-shared saved views for ordinary command flutes, with combined species, group, and selected-only filters. Each flute reopens to its own selected view and keeps its own unsaved draft. Filters can be added or edited one at a time, and the save icon flashes cream and amber for unsaved changes. Panel refreshes and status-tab changes preserve those edits until the view is saved or reopened. Select all matching works across pages, while page controls appear only when more pages exist.

  • Named saved views appear in the flute's item name. The item tooltip shows the saved filters with colored labels above the normal description; unsaved menu edits leave it unchanged until saved.

  • Ordinary command flutes can offer configurable icon choices. Each physical flute keeps its own chosen icon, while its held model, selected view, and command settings remain unchanged.

  • Added companion-menu pagination with 50 cards per page by default. Server owners can choose 1–100 in /tw settings. Ordinary flute menus build detailed cards only for the selected page, while search, status tabs, sorting, and group selection cover the full roster.

  • Reduced companion-menu page-change work by indexing registered portrait icons instead of scanning every item for each card.

  • Ordinary companion pages now reuse their card controls across page changes, including shorter last pages. Removed unused XP-ring widgets and hidden location updates, and shared trait reads within each card build to reduce work on first loads as well.

  • Reduced companion-menu refresh cost by sharing profile and flute data within each refresh, building owned cards once, and using indexed discovery instead of scanning every loaded entity. Happiness meters and tooltips share one calculation, population checks resolve families only for nearby roles, and saved-card extension lookups stay within the requested companion. Countdown-only updates reuse existing card data until expiration.
