Core concepts
There are a few core concepts to take care of when working with kinetics, and having them in mind will allow you to plan your systems accordingly to your needs, optimizing resources and complexity!
Speed
The speed determines the energy the component is currently using, and the direction it is rotating. There are up to 10 levels of speed, and each of them with their negative version (inverted rotation).

Not every component supports every speed level
Capacity
The capacity is usually defined in generators, and will determine the amount of power they can hold until the network overloads and stops working.
Modder tip
Capacity is not exclusive for generators, if you desire to make a gear that adds more capacity to the network, you could define in on the configuration of your component!
Power
Some components will consume power when activated, and this will be directly affected by the current speed of the component. Components that make use of power have "Minimum required power", this defines the base power usage of that component when powered with a speed level of 1. This will be multiplied by the current speed level of the component, consuming more capacity of the network.
Spring clock
You will see how some components use the Spring Clock.
This is a feature that allows blocks to charge power every second, when the minimum required charge is achieved, and that said action can execute, the charges will be consumed based on the charge cost of the component and the action will be executed.
