What Is Magic?

The untapped power of reality. The part of the world that yearns for change, begs for someone to take the reigns and make something new. Is it something to be feared? avoided? praised? Or is it a fact of the universe. A force, while powerful, that is fundamental in nature. Cold,
Uncaring,
Consistent,
Is it something waiting for you to push past the false belief that it is unknownable, waiting for you to grab hold and mold it, shape it, control it. To wish to understand not just what magic does, but how. Magic is not for the faint of heart. You must yearn for the power, and it will be given to you.

Hexcode is the expression of magic at it's truest form.
The only limit to Hexcode is your ability to use it. With Hexcode, you are not limited by "Old Mages" of the past who arbitrarily came up with spells. No, you ARE the old mage, you ARE the one to innovate on this new form. You have full control, and Hexcode won't stand in your way. It is entirely up to you whether you use that power for good or evil.

In Hexcode, you are not given a list or a screen. It is fully in-world and immersive - only using a GUI where absolutely necessary. To make glyphs, you have to draw them.
To link them together into hexes, you must drag them together.
Hexcode is not a screen, it is a part of your world. The progression is how much YOU know and how skilled YOU are. The only thing stopping you from going further is how much you know, not some random system arbitrarily limiting glyph creation.

Hexcode grows as you do. You'll never feel out of your depths as you progressively discover more and more possibilities. As you explore further into Orbis, you will be able to find prebuilt spells and discover hidden mysteries that hint towards more powerful magic. As you draw new shapes, the memories will stick with you. At any time, you can open the **Heart of Orbis** to view what you've learned so far.

Hexcode is fully asset-driven and expandable. Nothing in hexcode is hardcoded. You can customize, tweak, and change any aspect of the mod to your liking. Whether you are a server owner or mod developer, Hexcode will adapt to however you wish. Glyphs, shapes, nodes, hexes, pedestals, all fully decoupled and ready for your integration.

A Language, Not a Menu

Most magic systems give you a list and ask you to pick. Hexcode gives you a language and asks you to speak. There is no "fireball" button. There is a Self glyph, Number glyph, Explode glyph and a Projectile glyph. Wire them together the right way and you get a fireball. Wire them together a different way and you get something no one else has ever cast. That is the promise of Hexcode. Not spells handed down from a menu, but spells built from first principles by you. _Welcome to the craft. The door is open._
