Draconic Essences and Scales

Scales and plain Draconic Essences are the shared foundation for capture and Soul Bond crafting. Elemental essences can come from dragon drops or be refined at the Draconic Altar.
Core materials
- Draconic Scale — a general dragon crafting material. Full dragon families (Hydras, Nordic Drakes, and Rock Drakes) drop scales; the amount varies by family and variant.
- Plain Draconic Essence — concentrated power with no elemental attunement. All full dragon families drop plain essence, with quantities varying by family and variant.
Each dragon family always provides the main elemental materials shown below. Void essences, extra Rock Drake Fire or Ice essences, and decorative Drake Eggs are occasional bonuses rather than guaranteed rewards.
Verified drop identities

The standard Hydra and Rock Drakes can also drop a rare decorative Drake Egg. That item is a placeable decoration, not a hatching item. Do not substitute it for the Mysterious Egg.

Each conversion creates one elemental Draconic Essence and consumes 2 plain Draconic Essences plus the material shown:

Use the Draconic Altar Essence category for these conversions. Earth and Wind are crafting essences: they are used in recipes such as the Mysterious Egg, but they are not Miniwyvern forms. The selectable forms and their eight-essence re-attunement costs are listed in Soul Bond and Attunement.
