FAQ and Troubleshooting

Use this page to diagnose the most common capture, roster, summon, and attunement questions. For tables of locations, drops, limits, and costs, see Quick Reference.
Capture and stones
Why will capture not start?
Capture is only for an eligible full dragon. Carry the Dragon Command Flute, lower the dragon's health, tranquilize it, carry a Draconic Stone, and stay in range while holding the action. A Miniwyvern is not a capture target. There is no mandatory minimum stone tier.
Why did a stone fail or disappear?
A channel that resolves as a success or failed capture consumes one stone. Stronger stones improve the chance of success, but any tier can attempt any eligible full dragon. If a stone vanished, the channel reached a resolved outcome; prepare another stone before the next resolved attempt.
Why did an interruption not consume my stone?
Releasing early, losing range, losing the target, or making a prerequisite invalid interrupts the three-second channel before it resolves. An interrupted or invalid attempt consumes no stone. See Capturing Dragons for the outcome table.
Roster, storage, and timing
Why is my dragon stored?
Dismissal, summon expiry, logout, and world transfer return the companion to roster storage for later use. Storage is not death. A confirmed-death card needs Revive before it can be summoned again.
Why is summon on cooldown?
Full dragons have a five-minute base summon window and a five-minute base cooldown before that dragon can be summoned again. Summoner's Pact talents shorten the cooldown. Check the roster status rather than expecting a published Miniwyvern timer.
Why can only one full dragon or one Miniwyvern be active?
The roster has one active full-dragon slot and one active Miniwyvern slot. You can use one of each together, but you cannot activate a second companion in the same family. Owned full dragons are unlimited, while the Soulbound Miniwyvern is one per player.
How do I find, recall, or revive a companion?
Use Locate from the selected roster card when the companion is not beside you. For an active companion, use Recall to call it back. For a confirmed-death card, choose Revive, provide the listed materials, and then choose Summon after revival returns the companion to storage. Summoning and Revival lists the cost for each dragon type.
Soul Bond and forms
Why can I not claim the Soul Bond twice?
Hatching a crafted Mysterious Egg claims one lifelong Soul Bond per player. A later egg cannot create a second personal Miniwyvern. Re-attune the owned Miniwyvern instead through Soul Bond and Attunement.
Why can Miniwyverns not be captured?
Miniwyverns do not spawn in the world. Create one by crafting and hatching the Mysterious Egg, then manage it from the flute roster.
Why can I not select Earth or Wind?
Earth and Wind Draconic Essences are crafting materials used in recipes. They are not selectable Miniwyvern forms. The available choices are Wild, Fire, Ice, Lightning, Nature, Toxic, and Void; compare them on Miniwyvern Forms.
Toxic Hydra and drops
Where does the Toxic Hydra actually spawn?
Search Zone 4 volcanic terrain on Dark Green Moss patches. It does not use a swamp location. The full habitat table is in Finding Dragons.
Does the Toxic Hydra drop a Drake Egg?
No. The Toxic Hydra drops Toxic and Earth materials and may also drop a Void essence, but it never drops a decorative Drake Egg. The decorative Drake Egg is separate from the crafted Mysterious Egg; see Draconic Essences and Scales.
