Work through these milestones in order. Each stage points to a guide for the details.
- Build the altar and flute. Craft a Draconic Altar at a Workbench, then make the Dragon Command Flute. Start with the Recipe Reference and Dragon Command Flute guide.
- Capture your first Young Rock Drake. Search Zone 1 volcanic cave aggro beacons with a tranquilizer and your first Draconic Stone. See Finding Dragons and Capturing Dragons.
- Use stronger stones against harder full dragons. Improve your stones as you move from early captures to tougher full dragons. Compare options in the Dragon Compendium and Capturing Dragons.
- Gather materials between expeditions. Collect the resources needed for better stones, tools, and companion care. Use Items and Crafting and the Recipe Reference.
- Make the Mysterious Egg and claim your Soul Bond. Craft and hatch a Mysterious Egg, then make the one-per-player Soul Bond. Read Soul Bond and Attunement.
- Choose a Miniwyvern attunement. Explore the Fire, Ice, Lightning, Nature, Toxic, and Void paths, and re-attune as you learn what fits your play style. See Soul Bond and Attunement and Companion Guides.
- Level companions and unlock talents. Keep adventuring with your roster to grow stronger and open new talent choices. Follow the Companion Guides.
- Take the fight to the ground and sky. Learn ground mounts first, then master Nordic Drake flight and Toxic Hydra flight. Check the Dragon Compendium and Companion Guides.
- Manage long-term companion care. Organize storage, plan summon windows, respect cooldowns, and learn how to revive a fallen companion. Use Companion Guides and Help and Reference.
